Japan      February 15-23, 2019  Cost: ~$2900

Details are still being worked out

This is what we have so far:

  * We will be going to Niesko Japan, one of the powder capitols of the world.
  * Airfare Denver to New Chitose Airport
  * 7 nights lodging at the M-Hotel , slope side in Niesko
  * Breakfast Daily
  * Lift tickets and guides will be extra (lift tickets included on Ikon pass)
  * Cat skiing available

Located on the southern peninsula of Hokkaido island, Niseko is the largest and easily Japan's most famous ski destination. Receiving 595 inches of snow on average per season, Niseko is truly the powder paradise that it's rumored to be. But it's not only Niseko's powder that's the best in Japan; for expert skiers and riders, nothing competes with Niseko's off-piste side-country skiing. Located 62 miles from bustling Sapporo, Niseko is quite convenient for both international travelers and for city sight-seers. The resort is very near Mt. Yotei or "the Mt. Fuji of Hokkaido," and the views contribute to Niseko's status as Japan's ski-resort star. The resort is comprised of four interconnected base areas: An'nunpuri, Niseko Village, Hirafu and Hanazono, all of which offer a unique dining and lodging experience.

Big Sky      March 6 - 10, 2019  Cost: ~$1100*

Join us as we return to majestic Big Sky Resort, Montana! Located an hour south of Bozeman, Big Sky is recognized as Montana's premier ski destination and a major North American resort. It's big: 3600 acres spread across three mountains with a vertical drop of 4350 ft (second largest in the US), but with the interconnect to adjacent Moonlight Basin it's huge- nearly 5800 skiable acres on 220 runs served by 36 lifts. That should keep you busy for a few days!

Be sure to ride the Lone Peak Tram, a spectacular ride to the top of Lone Mountain at 11,166 ft (it was famously blown up in the 1996 Warren Miller movie Snowriders).

For convenience and flexibility, lift tickets are not included in the price of the trip. Many of us have IKON passes, which includes 5 days of non-blackout skiing at Big Sky. Group rates may be an option (TBD). A 3 of 4 day pass is currently ~$360 online. Window prices are higher.

* 4 nights lodging is at the Huntley Lodge w/breakfast, ski in/ski out.
* Round trip airfare from Denver to Bozeman
* Bus/Shuttle transportation between Bozeman and Big Sky Resort
Trip price is reduced by about half if you provide your own transportation to and from the Big Sky resort complex.

Trip Code of Conduct - please readb>
Hopefully this is common sense to most people.
Beds: The club does its best to place couples in queen/king beds and individuals in twin beds. In some cases this is not possible. In situations where twin beds are not available in a unit, couples shall yield the largest bed to the two individuals that have to share a bed. Being a couple does not automatically entitle you to the master suite.
Guests: Last minute impromptu guests are permitted only with the permission of the trip chairperson and with the appropriate payment and membership or guest fees. Under no circumstances may a participant invite someone to stay in a unit without the permission of the trip chairperson. Any club banned members are not allowed in the rooms, condos, vehicles or other club rented facilities.
Party Room: On some trips, a party room is provided to the participants. Non-trip persons may not attend a party without the permission of the trip chairperson. An appropriate fee may be assessed. Given that the party room is occupied by people that desire a good night's sleep, the party shall end at a reasonable hour.
Noise: It is a certainty that we will be sharing the hotel/condo with other non-ski-club people. Many of them may have small children and may not share our enthusiasm for late night libations. Please be considerate! Move yourself and your bags into your room as quietly as possible. Talking loudly (or any other activity that makes noise) in the hallways is NOT permitted! If you are getting a group together to go out, assemble the group in a room or outside the building.
Ground Transportation: On some trips the club provides rental vehicles for use by trip participants. The use of the vehicle is determined by the democratic decision of the occupants. Please be respectful of the drivers, they should not be considered personnel chauffeur. The vehicles are primarily for transportation to and from the ski areas. No one, including drivers, should consider the vehicle primarily for their own personal use.
Bathrooms: All bathrooms in a unit are communal, within reason. After skiing, bathrooms in a unit should be accessible to the next person needing to use it. The master bath in a unit is not necessarily for the exclusive use of the persons occupying the master suite. This does not imply that anyone in the unit may transition the master bedroom in the middle of the night to get to the master bath. People should always use good judgment and use the most accessible bathroom without disturbing others.
Pets: Pets are generally not permitted. On certain trips, pets may be permitted when the property management allows it, and the trip chairperson agrees to it, and all persons sharing the unit agree to it.
Last of all: NO WHINING! Constructive suggestions are welcome. Responses to whining will be offers of cheese and music from very small violins.
