Camping Trip 2024

The 2024 camping trip is in the Buffalo Creek area Eight miles outside of Bailey. This is a new campsite this year, about 10 miles from the site we were in last year. The exact location will be provided at a later date.

The campsite is approximately one hour from Denver. The Choke Cherry site is a flat, wide open space with plenty of room. This is a medium size meadow surrounded by an aspen grove and of course the choke cherry bushes. It is set up with porta potties including an ADA one. Travel trailers, motor homes, campers and tents can all fit with very little leveling. Tents can be set up in the aspen grove or out in the meadow.

There is a 10’x20’ canopy, plus a table and chairs and a wood fire pit. Also, there are a number of wooden spools you can roll around to have a table to prepare meals or hold your drinks while you gaze at the stars. At the edge of the meadow is a trail that leads down to a bridge that crosses the creek.

Meal planning: A list of campers will be provided to paid campers so you can plan meals with those you want to cook with and have similar food interests. Pay prior to camping, selecting 1 to 3 overnights. The cost is $11.00 per person per night. The cutoff for signing up is Wednesday, July 10 by 5:00 pm.

Non-members are welcome.

Day trippers: As the site is only an hour from Denver, you are welcome to attend for the day for a $5.00 fee to be paid when you arrive.

Parking: RV, Campers, Car campers are all welcome. You will be able to drive into the campsite and park where we are camping.

Campsite: The campsite is privately owned property that is typically offered through a camp rental site, Hip Camp. But the owner is offering the rental directly to Satellite Ski Club.
